In 2012, Pacoima Beautiful and other local organizations created the Pacoima Wash Master Plan to transform the unused embankments along the Pacoima Wash and transform them into a vibrant public space with amenities for communities to enjoy. Residents in Pacoima and the Northeast San Fernando Valley have fewer parks and open space per residents than other areas of Los Angeles, and in 2020 we had the opportunity to revisit our plan.

KDI and Pacoima Beautiful received funds from Prop 68 and began reengaging the community around their vision for this project. Our teams have hosted community meetings, disseminated surveys and have done door-to-door knocking in the surrounding neighborhoods to further collect community feedback. We continue to do this work as we fundraise these efforts to fulfil this exciting vision.
