MaRTy is a heat robot that monitors the impact extreme heat has on our bodies and how shade could save our health. Working with UCLA Urban Environmental Planning Professor, Kelly Turner and Assistant Professor at Arizona State University Ariane Middel, we were able to gather heat data to understand how the mean radiant temperature (the heat that hits the body) impacts how a person experience the heat.

This data will help us combat extreme heat in our community and call for policies that will create a climate resilient future for all Pacoima.
