PB Wishes you a Happy Holiday Season

Dear Pacoima Beautiful Family,

As we approach the end of another year, I want to take this moment to express my deepest gratitude for your tireless dedication to making Pacoima a cleaner, sustainable, healthier, and more beautiful place for all.

This year, Pacoima Beautiful has made significant strides in our mission. Over the last few months, our team has:

  • Protected families through vaccine access (50+ appointments).

  • Equipped granite workers with safety masks (243 distributed) to protect against silicosis. Earned media coverage from Telemundo (308K Reach), LA Times (30.8M Reach).

  • Greened the community (1,000+ trees planted) through our work with the Green Together Collaborative.

  • Empowered youth as environmental stewards for a decade, through our Junior Field Rangers program.

  • Kicked off our People’s Collaborative Academy. A 10-week program where participants explored the development roots of Los Angeles and Pacoima.

  • Advocated for policies to advance environmental justice and community health.

  • Received coverage in an episode of Uproxx’s Show Up (3.64M Reach).

  •

None of this would have been possible without your support. From volunteering your time and talents to donating to our cause, you have played a vital role in our success.

But our work is far from over. In the coming year, we will continue to fight for environmental justice across the Northeast San Fernando Valley. We will continue to be at the table voicing community concerns around equity and environmental justice. In 2024, We will:

  • Collaborate with LA transportation agencies to mitigate and safeguard Van Nuys Blvd small businesses from light rail project disruptions.

  • Continue to impact climate change through programs like Cools Streets, Green Together Collaborative, Electro-Bici.

  • Roll out public amenity projects to improve the living environment around the Pacoima Wash at Haddon Avenue bridge.

  • Advocate for policies that address the climate crisis and protect our air, water, and land.

  • Drum up support for our advocacy campaigns fighting for clear air in Northeast San Fernando Valley.

  • Expand our programming and advocacy reach across Panorama city through our team at Casa Esperanza.

As we enter the holiday season, I encourage you to reflect on the progress we've made together this year. I also encourage you to think about the future of our community. What kind of world do we want to create for our children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews? Let’s not forget our plants and fur babies.

I believe that a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future is within reach. But it will require the continued commitment and hard work of all of us.

On behalf of the entire Pacoima Beautiful team, I wish you a happy and healthy holiday season. May the New Year bring you peace, joy, and renewed strength for the work ahead.

Quick note, our office will be closed starting Thursday, December 21 and will reopen Monday, January 08.

In solidarity,

Veronica Padilla-Campos
